It turned out to be a great day Sunday, February 2nd, 2003. The sun was out and it seemed

a lot warmer then in the past month. Quicks Auto Sound and TV hosted a great show for the

Maryland and DC area CompetitorsIt was also a great day for Db Drags.

Once again we had competitors coming as far as New Jersey and surrounding states Virginia and

Delaware. Team Wattsup took the Longest Distance traveled award.  Len Kave took

the Loudest of the day. Best SPL install went to Brian Chiarizia. Once again Phil Brodeur has

taken the best looking car award. There are new rules this year in the street class that vehicles

are not allowed to run their vehicles while being tested.  Many competitors were unsure

of the vehicle electrical system if the vehicles could start back up after doing there run.

I am happy to announce that we had no problems and no one needed a jump start.

The February show was also the Introduction to the new Krazy Eights Competition that will be

ran as a side show event to some of the shows ran.  In this class you are allowed to have

one 8" sub, one amplifier, and one run to prevent "sandbagging". The box must be

able to be removed from the vehicle and it cannot be a wall (below the level

of the front side windows). The winner was Team Wattsup From New Jersey and

did they do their homework.  This "tiny" 8" kicker L7 subwoofer put out a amazing 147.5 db

gaining more then 6 db over the next competitor. There was also Another competition

that was held on Saturday, February 1st, 2003 in the Midwest ran by Steve Benton

of Get loud Productions where they held the same Krazy Eights Competition

as a challenge to the East Coast Competitors.  As a Inspiration for them to get louder and to

show what there subs are made of Greg Davis from Kicker Audio put a challenge to both Events.

"The reason I like this is that it is fresh, anybody can scrounge up an 8 and an amp

. It also is as much about the cook as the kitchen, so to speak.
So Let me run it down

1) Ya have to use a Kicker woofer. If you don't have as good of taste in amps,

You can slide this time....cause I am playing nice  and there is always hope for a lost soul.
2) The winner of the Midwest show and the east coast show each get :
A fresh L7 8 to go forth and conquer again.
A License plate so thieves can spot the Loudest car in the lot
A Decal
and
A CD Case
If the overall (both Shows) winner has a Kicker Woofer ,a 1200.1 will be launched in their direction"

It was a Awesome event hope to see more people for the Krazy Eights Competition at the

next show February 9th, 2003 at Auto sound Express in Suitland, Maryland.

However it turned out to be a very cold day.  As the day grew on we started to see Snow good thing the

competition was held indoors.  There were people who traveled very far to get to the competition
